Cùram Thiriodh, established in 2011, is based on the Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, a remote island with a population of around 700 people spread across approximately 30 square miles.
The island's geography means that many residents have little or no support nearby and rely on Cùram's services. Our work focuses on reducing loneliness and social isolation, supporting mental wellbeing, encouraging physical activity, and promoting good overall health.
Cùram delivers a diverse programme of activities and services, many of which are free or subsidised, designed to create and sustain the conditions for positive mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing across the community.
By working closely with health and social care professionals and partner organisations, we provide guidance, signposting, and access to practical help, advice, and support in a wide range of areas, particularly for those on low incomes or facing additional challenges.
Over the years, Cùram has built strong relationships and earned the trust of the local community, creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment where people feel valued, connected, and empowered to live well.
